Alice Nimmo

Alice is an artist living in the seaside city of Plymouth in the South West of England. She is a Painter, Illustrator, Crafter, Writer and Art History Nerd. She graduated from the University of Plymouth with a First Class Honours in Illustration. During her time at university she specialised in editorial work, receiving the David Smith Editorial Award at her graduation. She maximises on the freedom of imagination illustration allows by creating conceptual illustrations which are often colourful yet concise.

“I enjoy pushing the bounds of my imagination to convey information through surreal scenarios grounded by character and narrative.”

Alice’s fine art work is inspired by the natural world and human connection. Her expressive landscapes echo an impressionistic style with intuitive colour choices and visible mark making.

“I love creating expressive and colourful paintings which capture a perfect moment forever. I'm never happier then when I'm in the zone creating something beautiful, and I love to share this magic.”

Since graduating Alice has been creating, researching and travelling. Her constant stream of creative output in all it's forms has lead to many passion projects being in the works. When not ‘working’ Alice can often be found buried in an art book scribbling notes and coming up with ideas. Her home has become a library full of second hand art books. She is also learning Italian to further her joy of travelling to study art and culture abroad.
